off Hwy 19 (Nanaimo Parkway) and Jingle Pot exit.

Distance:

Approximately 5.5 km x Four laps of the lake = 22 km total.

Day of Race entries permitted at the start line up until 12:30 p.m.

 

Entry Fee:

$24 per team early fee if received by Oct. 18th

$36 per team after Oct 18th but before Oct 31st

$44 per team on race day Nov 1st

                        - Veteran Women (50 plus),  Veteran Men (50+) ,  Veteran Mixed (50+)

                        - Solo Women (any age) ,  Solo Men (any age) ,  Family (any age)

 

* Teams run in the category of their youngest runner on race day

* Women can run on men's teams, but men can't run on women's teams.

* All Mixed categories must have a minimum of 2 women.

* Family teams must have a minimum of two members from the same family

General Info:

This inaugural event is part of four cross country races on Vancouver Island.  These include;

Thetis Lake 20K Relay - November 11, 2008

Gunner Shaw 10K Cross Country Classic - November 29, 2008

Stewart Mountain 10 Mile Cross Country Challenge - December 13, 2008

 

Main Charity:                                                     

All funds raised from this event will go to the;                   

Nanaimo Regional Hospital - Emergency Department.

If teams are able to raise any additional funds please see the Pledge form

 

Low Frills Event:

Runners must record their own times and post them at the finish area. There will

be limited food and  fluids at the finish. Hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be

available. Be prepared to bring your own refreshments and dry, warm change of

clothes.

 

Awards:

Limited for this is an inaugural event. Prizes will be awarded to the first three in each

category.

 

Draw prizes from our sponsors Frontrunners - Nanaimo, Oak Bay Bicycles and Howard Johnson Hotel.

 

The first ten teams registered from "out of town" will be given, 2 for one passes,

at the Nanaimo Aquatic Centre (hot showers, steam room and more).
