FAQ's for the Westwood Lake Relay
1. When & where is the event? June 28th, 2011, 6:30 pm start in Nanaimo at Westwood Lake Park, Westwood Road, off Hwy 19 and Jinglepot exit. See maps.
2. What are the distances? One loop around the lake is approx. 5.5 km, each team runs around the lake four times. An individual can run the whole distance, 22 km.
3. How do I register? You can register online at Events online until noon June 24th.
You can take your entry form to the Frontruners Nanaimo store, or mail it to the Bastion Running Club. Day of race entries are permitted until 6:15 am.
4. How do we decide what age category our team is? Teams run in the category of their youngest runner on race day.
5. Is water available on the course? No, if runners need water they are expected to carry their own or have team mates support them. Water is available at the finish area.
6. Is food provided? This is a now frills event, bring your own refreshments and dry, warm change of clothes. Some hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be available.
7. Where does the money from the event go? The event organisers make no money from this event . ALL funds raised are donated to the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital - ER Department.
8. Our team is short a runner. Email the race director and he will post your requirments.
9. I want to run on a team. Email the race director and he will post your requirments.
10. One of our runners is injured, can my wife run on our team? Yes, women can run on a men's team, but men cannot run on a women's team.
11. What if we can only find 2 or 3 runners. This is after all, meant to be a fun event and a fundraiser, we would prefer 4 runners and do not have a category or any prizes for fewer runners.
